How putting the customer front and centre led to a 1000% Increase in organic reach and a 350% boost in engagement

Mental Health & Health-related Brands & Organizations are always a tricky place to be in. The biggest issue arises when Marketers & Agencies fail to nail down their communication strategy.

As I always say – “There’s a fine line between being salesy and actually conducting value-based Marketing”

And so the challenge for Seeking Shalom was – How do we revive a dead social media account and start building a brand?

The answer? It was all down to strategic collaboration that involved everyone from the Marketing Team to Interns and even the Founder himself.

Within 3 months, Seeking Shalom’s account started getting a boost with a 1000% increase in Reach. During that same period, Engagement on all social posts went up by 350%.

We created a variety of posts – From feed posts on Instagrams to Carousels as well as Stories. This was pre-Insta shorts so the brand did lack video-based content.

Taking Seeking SHalom from Zero to Hero in 3 months

Challenge

The main challenge was delivering our value prop which all focused on Holistic ‘Faith-based’ practices.

In the health industry,  people don’t prefer seeing posts of Mental Health as they can trigger unwanted symptoms.

So, our plan was to create posts that raised awareness regarding various aspects of Mental Health specific to what Seeking Shalom provided as an organization.

This included Couples & Family Therapy, Youth Counseling and Faith-based practices.

We needed to organize the project too as it involved not just me as a Marketing Lead but also Health Interns who were volunteering at Seeking Shalom. All of this was reported back to the Founder, Christopher L. Smith.

The task ahead was a big one but I was confident in myself and my team’s ability to achieve great results!

Solution

Our work started with in-depth discussions with Seeking Shalom after I did a full audit of their existing social media presence.

This gradually evolved to Market Research as we needed to understand what content types worked and most importantly, how we could frame our communication to reach the people we needed to reach.

After this was done, I created a content calendar using tools like BuzzSumo, Answer The Public, and Ubersuggests.

Within the next 3 months, I designed the posts in Canva and published 3-5 posts per week. We had a full-fledged Hashtag Strategy in place too and the goal was to start getting some conversation started around the brand.

At the end of 3 months, these posts came together to produce a staggeried 350% Increase in Engagement with 1000% more Reach.
